God loves me. And I know this because of the community placed in my life. Memories from the past two months will forever be etched in my heart as some of my favorites of all time.
I was reminded recently by a college friend that when she met me one of the first things that she learned about me is that I LOVE love. I used to say that all the time! And it still rings true.
I am a deep feeler. It brings me the most joy when I see people around me living, growing, and just being! Just this week I have cried while watching incredible Olympic finishes (I mean Bobby Finke! How does he do it?!), listening to Big Sean’s “Freshman 10 (Freestyle),” and most recently while writing this post. I am being authentically me when I am loving on those around me. And while I love to give love, I am always reminded that I too am loved so so deeply. By my friends and family I am seen, heard, and understood. This is the greatest gift I could ever receive.
So this post is an appreciation post. And honestly I probably won’t even be able to capture it all here but please know that I know and I remember.
Thank you to the 40 people that flew in and showed up to my Juneteenth Going Away party in Atlanta! You all showered me with so many well-wishes. Our time together was so precious to me! We will definitely be gathering again in the future! Y'all are a GOOD time!
Thank you to everyone who offered a hand and showed up to pack! Whew! My apartment was packed ONLY because of the gracious time and energy you gave! Y’all helped me tackle this task day by day. You literally kept me sane! Moving and packing is NOT for the faint of heart. Just a tip for anyone moving in the future, please don’t wait until the week before you leave to begin! I have finally learned my lesson! (Third times a charm right? Lol.)
Thank you for the thoughtful gifts and experiences! Like y’all went above and beyond! Y’all really know me! Thank you for loving me and accepting me just as I am!
Thank you for the countless calls, texts, rides, check-ins, prayers and everything else you do to let me know that I am in your thoughts and that you care! It really does mean the world.
And lastly, thank you to my new community in Chennai! As soon as I got here people offered up such kindness to make sure I transitioned smoothly!
These past two months I have seen God’s love personified. My prayer is that the love in and around me will continue to radiate throughout this world. Choosing to love is the greatest thing you can ever do!
P.S. I know y’all want to see more of my life here in India. That will come soon! I’m still adjusting and taking everything in. Please know that I am well! Also, I am currently preparing for the first day of school on August 2nd!
Until next time!
I love y’all!
